The Year 1 Characters and Stage Pass is linked from the MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls base page as AppID 4848500. The store description says it includes four characters and one stage post-launch. The current text does not reveal a complete named roster for those four slots. This tracker therefore records the number and ownership boundary without turning placeholder labels into public character names.
Why the tracker is separate
The base page describes 20 launch characters and an expanding roster. A Year 1 release can expand the current roster while remaining outside the original launch count. Keeping a separate tracker lets the launch page stay historically accurate and gives a player an answer to “is this available through the pass?” without mixing the AppIDs.
Use Editions for purchase and delivery wording. Use Roster for playable identity. Use Updates for dated official announcements.
Record one slot at a time
Each slot needs content type, official name when revealed, source URL, product AppID, announcement date, availability state, Steam platform, and last checked date. Use announced when a first-party source names the slot, available when the live game or product confirms access, and tested when the wiki reproduces the current behavior.
Do not fill the name field with “Character 1” as if it were a real identity. A placeholder can remain in an internal maintenance note, but a public index should say “name not yet publicly stated” if that is the evidence state. A future official source can replace the state without rewriting the scope logic.
The same rule applies to a character shown in a pass illustration. A picture can establish that an item is marketed with the pass, but it does not establish the playable move list, release order, or exact Steam ownership path. When a slot is named, confirm the name in the official post and then check the current DLC or edition page. If a release date is absent, use the status announced rather than converting the pass’s overall delivery expectation into a character-specific date.
Players often ask whether a future character can be practiced before release. The answer must come from the live roster and official product state. Do not offer a workaround, unlock code, or preview claim without a first-party source. A tracker is successful when it prevents a purchase or team decision from being based on a placeholder.
Separate character and stage delivery
The pass contains four characters and one stage. A character announcement does not prove the stage is released, and a stage announcement does not prove every character is playable. Give them separate status rows and separate update links. If the live game displays a new slot before the store description changes, record the observed state and seek a first-party confirmation.
Cosmetics and lobby items stay outside this tracker. The Deluxe and Ultimate descriptions mention Howard the Duck, Cosmo, costumes, and an animated color unlock. Those belong to Editions, not to a playable Year 1 character row.
Update a character release
Read the official announcement, confirm the related AppID, and check the live character select or ownership panel. Add the name and state, then link a character page only if the move list and availability are verified. Do not copy a trailer move into a guide. If the announcement supplies no public version, use the checked date and state that the version is not publicly stated.
Year 1 tracker FAQ

Are placeholder slot names official character names?
No. They describe future slots in the edition text and should not be used as playable identities.
Where should ownership questions go?
Use the Year 1 pass page under Editions; this page is the roster identity tracker.
